What about these strange soap pies I have made? It’s their slight icky-ness that I enjoy, the desire one has to touch and enquire, their slimy, shiny surface and the density so blatantly contrasting the dry, paper-thin flour structure’s that litter my space, like crumpled waste. They were made in reaction to the fragile flour works and I would have guessed that they could only be displayed as a couple, however the more I looked at them side by side, isolated in situ, the contrasting effect I had anticipated and desired disappeared, leaving a nothingness which I didn’t much make of

I propose to install a large puddle-patch of soap jelly on the floor and leading up the step in my studio space and vertically up a section of the wall. It would need to glisten, as if wet, and an intricate bubbling pattern would emerge on the top surface as you looked closer. It would of course be a creamy –white in colour and about 2cm thick. Due to the nature of the soap jelly this work cannot exist in space, only in your mind. |

Material Specimens
I propose to fill the lids of the flower-holders that I have collected with wax. I would do this several times, making multiples and a vast number of them, as many as I could until I got bored or ran out of time. I would then build a wall of them to look like it replaced one of the existing walls of the space.
